Collaborators
The concerted efforts of these people deserve recognition and support. They are helping others overcome adversity through basketball. We work harmoniously with these entities in Haiti

Men’s National Team
BAL
Baskètbol pou Ankadre Lajenès (BAL), a.k.a. Basketball to Uplift the Youth, began in July 2013. Led by Founder and Executive Director, Dave Fils-Aimé, BAL is working with youth in two of Port-au-Prince’s most underserved urban neighborhoods: Cité Soleil and Martissant. Dave and his staff use basketball as a tool to educate and mentor over 160 vulnerable Haitian youth.
Persévérance École de Basketball
The Perseverance School of Basketball is the longest running youth basketball program in all of Haiti. Founded on November 12, 1987 by its president, Lesly Desjardins. Lesly, who we affectionately know as “Coach Chov”, is still going strong today, as he runs the program with five other coaches. They serve 84 students ages 13 and under in the nation’s capital.
Academie Sportive D’Haiti (ACASH)
Robert Luis Bassiany a. is doing a tremendous amount for the people of his community through sport. He runs a youth basketball program that draws over 100 students from local Saint Michel de L’Atalaye schools.
Centre Sport Pour L’espoir Haiti/ GHATES
The Haiti Sport for Hope Center a. was inaugurated in July 2014. It is one of two in the world (the other is in Zambia, which first opened in 2010). We have been involved with multiple camps hosted at the Haiti Sport for Hope Center, including NBA Digicel Jumpstart 2018. The Executive Director of the Sport for Hope Center is Marc Arthur Jean Louis from Jeremie, Haiti. Marc is also the founder of Global Haitian Advancements Through Education and Sports (GHATES) in his hometown. GHATES continues to serve the youth of Jeremie. As Marc says “Espò gen pouvwa pou ini nou”, which means “Sports have the power to unite us”.
